Choosing the Right Printer-
Choosing the right printer to buy can be a daunting task. The choices are vast and the cost can vary considerably. Finding the right printer mainly depends on the individuals’ primary usage. The main thing to consider is whether you are buying for personal use or for a home/small business and also what your main use for the printer will be. Do you need it mainly to print documents or will you be printing photos?
For someone such as a student or the average printer user, a basic Inkjet printer will probably suffice. They can range anywhere from approximately $50 to $150 for decent quality. The one thing to look out for though is the lower the initial cost of the printer; the more it might cost you to run it, i.e. the cost of ink. The most important thing to look at before you buy your printer is to look at the cost of the ink.
For someone running a home or small business a LaserJet printer would be ideal but they tend to be a bit pricier than the basic Inkjet.
Another thing to consider is looking at non-traditional brands. Most of us are familiar with brands such as Epson, Dell and HP but Samsung, Kodak and Brother have come out with a lot of good printers in recent years. I actually recommend Brother because we’ve been using the same Brother 9700 for approximately 7 years now and it’s still in great shape.
