Potomac & Takoma Park Maryland (MD) Two Monitors One Computer – How To Have Two Monitors Hooked Up To One Computer, Potomac & Takoma Park Maryland (MD)

One of the best things I ever did to make my computing life easier and a bit more fun is to hook up two monitors to my computer.  It gives you twice as much desktop space and is especially nice if you work in graphics or are an extreme gamer.  It really isn’t that difficult to install two monitors to your PC, the only requirement that you have to have is a second video (adapter) card.  If you are using a VGA connection you can always just get a VGA Splitter but most monitors are USB these days.  Your computer will always have one video card already installed but you may need that second one for the second monitor.  If you are unsure about what you need, or about installing the second video card yourself, or if your computer is even capable or handling one, here at Geek ABC we are more that willing to help you figure it out.  We can be reached via our website www.geekabc.com or give us a call at 1.877.GEEKABC (1.877.433.5222) for more information or to schedule an appointment.

If you are a laptop user you most likely already have multiple video adapters, you have the one for your LCD display as well as another for a regular monitor.  Basically all you have to do is plug in your monitor and adjust the video settings by right clicking on your desktop, selecting “Properties” and going in to the “Settings” tab.  This will be the same for setting up the dual monitors on a regular PC once you have the hardware installed and set up.  Once you have gone in to the “Settings” tab you can set things like the resolution, color depth as well as determine where you want each individual monitor icon depending on their actual positions.

Geek ABC is a locally owned computer service and repair company.  Our computer professionals have expertise in, but not limited to, desktop and laptop computer repair, emergency data recovery, data transfer and backup, virus and spyware removal, network installation and repair (both wired and wireless), software and hardware install and upgrades, as well as remote tech support and one-on-one training.  Geek ABC services the entire Washington DC Metro are and we can be reached via our website www.geekabc.com, or give us a call at 1.877.GEEKABC (1.877.433.5222) to set up an appointment.
