Managed Care – Managed Care Service, Washington DC, Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA)

Aside from being your regular goto Break Fix and networking service provider, one service that Geek ABC provides for small businesses that don’t have or can’t afford internal IT services is a Managed Care service plan.  With a Managed Care plan with Geek ABC you get 24/7, round the clock support and proactive monitoring for your small business network.

Managed Care means that we have the ability to monitor your network remotely and perform any necessary updates and preventative maintenance that needs to be done; including software updates, windows patches, security updates and much more.  And not only do we provide the remote services but if there is ever anything that can’t be done remotely we have technicians that will come out to your site and perform any work that needs to be done.

When you are trying to run a business and don’t have the proper IT care in place you can run in to unpredictable frustrations such as your E-mail systems going down, Spyware/Malware/Virus infections and other unauthorized access issues that could essentially damage your companies infrastructure.  With our Managed Services we can help provide you with an affordable solution to avoid these problems and repair them when they do occur.

Geek ABC is a locally owned computer and network service and repair company that provides services to Small and Medium sized business as well as residential services.  Managed Services is only one part of our business.  If you have any questions about any of our services we can be reached via our website www.geekabc.com, or give us a call at 1.877.GEEKABC (1.877.433.5222) for more information or to schedule an appointment.  You can also check out our blog at http://geekabc.blogspot.com/ for more information on other topics.  We provide mobile, onsite computer service and repair for businesses and residents throughout the Washington DC metro area.

Alexandria, Virginia (VA) Computer Networking and Repair – Wireless Networking and PC Repair Alexandria Virginia (VA)

With the decreasing cost of computers, most households these days have at minimum two computers, most likely a desktop and at least one laptop.  Wireless networking allows you to have all of your computers connected at the same time and it gives you the flexibility to move around from room to room.   If you don’t already have a wireless network set up or need help with your current network, Geek ABC is here to help, you can reach us via our website, www.geekabc.com, or give us a call at 1.877.GEEKABC (1.877.433.5222) to schedule an appointment.  We provide same day, mobile, in-home network support and repair services for residential and business customers in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

What is Wireless Computer Networking?

Wireless computer networking is the practice of connecting two or more computers together giving you the ability to share files and information (data) with friends, family, coworkers and customers.  Networks are most often defined by the geographical areas that they span.  LANs, or Local Area Networks, in general extend across a single home or building, whereas WANs, or Wide Area Networks, span across cities, states, or even around the globe.  The world’s largest public WAN is the internet.

The two most common network designs are peer-to-peer, most commonly used in home networking, and client-server, most commonly used in business networks.

When you set up a computer network, security software is a must have.  Having the appropriate network security is essential for any networking environment, especially for residential and small business users.  Home and small business users are more vulnerable to online intrusion due to a lack of knowledge and resources.  Not having a full time network engineer or technician on site or in your home leaves a space for viruses, spyware, malware, adware, and hackers to access your computer.  Geek ABC is here to help bridge that gap.  More to come on Home Networking Security!!!
